Soft E Collar

Soft Elizabethan Collars (Soft E Collar) are a great alternative to the plastic cones vets send home with your pet after a surgery or injury.

This Soft E Collar is made of a dense foam ring covered in a very durable soft vinyl fabric. You slip your pets head through the hole and then there is an string you adjust to make the hole smaller so your pets head can't slip out.

The Soft Elizabethan Collar is pictured on my girl Hope (100lbs) and my boy Rex (135lbs), both are Great Danes. I have to admit, I was taken back by the shear size of the soft e collar when I received it. I had ordered the XXL soft e collar, because I have big dogs.

At first glance, I did not think the hole on the ecollar was going to be big enough to slip over Rex's head. Much to my surprise, it slipped over easily, with room to spare. He was a little worried when I first put it on him, then settled down very quickly. Hope actually laid down on her side and the soft ecollar was then cushion for her head.

Both dogs tolerated the collar very well and easily adapted to it. The one thing I would be careful of is if you have a doggie door that your pet is used to going in & out on his/her own. This will be true for any ecollar, but you need to be careful your dog does not try to get out the door with the collar (or any ecollar) around his/her neck.

The Soft E Collars come in many different sizes and patterns, for all sizes of dogs or cats.

Another great use for this soft ecollar is for taking your young puppy outside, when he/she is still small enough to fit through small openings in your fence. By using one of the small soft e collars when you take your pup outside, you will prevent him/her from getting out of your yard though a small opening.

Of course, never leave your puppy unsupervised outside.

Also, while the soft e collar may look like a life preserver, it is NOT a floatation device!
