Canine Whole Body Support Suit

The Canine Whole Body Support Suit from AST is the perfect support for anyone with a large dog. I wish this was available when Bella was still alive, since it would have made it so much easier for me to help her move around.

Rather than using a front end harness, like I did for Bella, this canine whole body support suit helps distribute the pressure under the length of your dogs body when you help lift your dog, making it much more comfortable for your dog.

Both Get-A-Grip and Pet Support Suits are designed to wrap around a dog even if it can’t stand. There is no need to thread the head or legs through loops of strap.

Both feature rust-proof welded support rings at all four corners, and super strong 800lb-per-inch poly strap.

Washable: Warm water, regular cycle, hang dry.

Both the "Get-A-Grip" and "Pet Support" Canine whole body support suits have crossed support straps under your dogs belly, along with an abdomen cut-out to relief pressure on the soft underbelly and to accommodate male dogs.

The available shoulder strap is a must for those of us that weigh less that our dogs and are not strong enough to support their weight with our arms.

When Bella was alive, (tripod Great Dane - 150lbs) I used a front end harness and then took a luggage strap off of my laptop bag, so I could use my body to help support the weight. I was very happy to see this option available in the AST product! I know how useful it truly is!

Get-A-Grip - Canine Whole Body Support

The Get-A-Grip Canine Whole Body Support Suit comes in 3 standard sizes and is the perfect general mobility aid for dogs with a chest size from 22" - 42" inches and a body length from 8" - 13". If you require a bigger (or smaller) size, then the Pet Support Suit will meet your needs. (See description below)

Handles on the Get-a-Grip are permanently attached at a fixed length. Large size Grip Harnesses have four individual loop handles, and are designed to be used by two or more people. The color of the Grip is determined by the size. Small is Black, Medium is Green and Large is Blue.

Pet Support Suit - Canine Whole Body Support

The Pet Support Suit - Canine Whole Body Support is custom built to your dog’s measurements and is ideal for dog owners that need to provide extra support and control for their pets.

The Get-A-Grip and Pet Support canine whole body support suit share the same strap arrangement, the Pet Support Suit has a wrap-around flap secured with Velcro®, to provide additional support and stability, while the Get-A-Grip is “topless”, with only straps over the dog’s back.

Handles on the Pet Support Suit attach with nickel-plated clips, and are adjustable. Support Suit-style clip-On Handles are available as an accessory for the Grip Harness.

When ordering a Support Suit you can choose your color from Blue, Green, Yellow, Red or Black.

Which one should I get for my dog?

The answer depends on your needs. Generally, if you are going to be using the harness occasionally, for recreation, travel, first aid or short recovery from injury or surgery, the Get-a-Grip Harness™ will meet all of your needs.

If you are looking at longer-term use, or if you have a full flight or more of stairs to traverse, you might wish to consider the Pet Support Suit™. Also, if your dog has a very long or short torso, or a very thin belly compared to the chest, and you’ve had trouble getting a good fit with other products, the Pet Support Suit™ is the one for your dog.

What size do I need for my Dog?

If you are ordering the "Get-A-Grip" Canine Whole Body Support Suit, you will just need measurements "A" (Chest) & "C" (Length) below for ordering the correct size from the 3 standard sizes. Color of the harness is dependent on the size.

If you are ordering the "Pet Support" Canine Whole Body Support Suit, you will just need measurements "A" (Chest), "B" (Belly) & "C" (Length) above so suit can be made to the exact sizing for you special pet. You can also choose your favorite color from Blue, Green, Yellow, Red or Black.

A: Chest Circumference

Measure the circumference of your dog’s chest at its thickest point, behind the front legs. On some dogs the thickest part of the chest is right behind the front legs; on others it can be a couple inches farther back. Be sure to measure the thickest part of your dog’s chest.

Additional charges will apply for pets with a Chest circumference greater than 48”.

B: Belly Circumference

Measure the circumference of your dog around the belly, an inch or so in front of the rear legs.

C: Body Length

Measure your dog along the side of its torso, from just behind the front leg to just in front of the rear leg. We modify this measurement slightly to allow for leg movement and torso bend, so please measure as directed.

TIP! If you are uncertain about the length measurement, wrap a thin towel or pillowcase around your dog, folded to fit much as the suit will, from just behind the front legs to just in front of the rear legs. You can then measure the towel to determine your dog’s length.

That’s it! You’ve made the three measurements we need to design your dog’s suit. Just choose a color and you’re ready to order an AST

Refunds and Exchanges:

The "Get-A-Grip" Canine Whole Body Support Suit is returnable/exchangeable, as long as it is in "Brand New" condition and you have contacted us for a return authorization. We recommend putting a towel between your pet & the harness when first trying it to keep any hair or dirt off of the harness, in case a return in necessary.

The "Pet Support" Canine Whole Body Support Suit is exchangeable only, because it is a custom made product. Please measure your dog carefully to be sure that you get accurate measurements. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase, so take a little extra time to be sure of your dog’s dimensions; it may save you from ever needing to worry about our Exchange Policy.

There is a $60.00 fee on all Exchanged Suits.
