What is a Bully Stick?

I had a man ask me this at a dog event I was vending at. He asked "What were bully sticks used for", as he pointed to our Free Range, hormone free Bully Sticks. I said "to make little bullies"!

As gross as it may sound, a bully stick was actually the penis from a bull. They are put on racks so they are stretched out and then put into smokers to be dried out.

Bully sticks are also called "pizzles", "steer pizzle", "steer sticks", "pizzle sticks" and "bull sticks".

Are Bully Sticks safe for your dog?

- Our bully sticks are only free-ranging Brazilian cattle.

- They are USDA and FDA inspected and certified.

- No added hormones or antibiotics.

We only carry 9" or 12" Bully sticks. You can always cut them down if you need smaller ones, but even small dogs seem to manage fine with the longer bully stick.

Do Bully Sticks last as long as Elk Antlers?

We have made a conscious decision to no longer offer Elk Antlers as a chew for dogs. (My dogs loved them too!) After a conversation I had with a vet who specialized in canine dentistry, I found that the antlers are way too hard for your dogs teeth and he/she could end up cracking a molar up into the gum line. This is very painful for your dog and can go undetected by your local vet, unless they do a specialized dental X-ray.

So Bully sticks do not last as long, but they are still a long chew, one that you don't have to worry about your dog cracking his teeth on.

Bully sticks are also a great chew because they don't break apart in chunks, causing a potential choking hazard for you dog.

We still do not recommend leave this or any other chews alone with your dog, unattended.

9" Thick Angus Bully Stick

These bully sticks come from Argentinian angus cows which are some of the biggest cows in the world. These are the biggest of the big bully sticks. They are very rare and only happen to come in a few times a year.... we have very limited quantities of these so they will be taken off the site as we sell out. These are about 30-50% bigger than our standard bully sticks and can be used for the more aggressive of chewers.
